Three Word Address Is Not Better Than the Other Address System
Food, clothing, and shelter are necessary things in our life. We called these to the necessities of life. We cannot live without shelter. As what Chris Sheldrick, the speaker of the speech, said about, there are still billions of people are living without an address. Without an address, it means that they are not recognized as the member of society. To solve this address-less problems, he made new address system, the Three Word Address. However, I found several problems of this Three Word address.
As you can see, Three Word Address’ system is quite simple. They divided the world into three meter squares, and named just any three words to the 57 trillion three meter squares. I found the biggest problem in the basic idea of this. They are easily confused. There are 6 methods to align three words. Also, they names three words in random. So, if we confused our three word address and delivered something to the other address, that could be in the Antarctica or some other continents.
I found this academy’s three word address, and they said it’s “십일월, 계신다, 낙지.” Chris Sheldrick said they made this system to provide to the people who don’t have address. However, as what I did, we have to type our origin address to find our three word address. And it means, it doesn’t work to the people who don’t have address. Three word address is out of the point. Also, there could be several three word addresses in same building. 3 meter square is not that big to cover every size of building, and it must be the problem when we deliver something.
If we want to use three word address in our real life, we have to get government’s permission. And I don’t think that they could get the permission. It’s because people don’t know what it is. Even Facebook took 10 years to get 1 billion users. However, there are still many people who don’t do Facebook. Even if the three word address become popular, I think governments would use the street address. There are more disadvantages than merits about acceptation the three word address.
I love his attempt to make society’s address system better, but I think there are still many problems to accept it. Korea has changed our address system recently, too, so people are still confused about the previous one and the nowadays’ one. And I think this three word system is just aggravating our confusion.
