[BOOK REPORT] Mr.Popper's Penguins

Writing a book report with the words that I studied today(20190106)

Mr. Popper's Penguins - Richard and Florence Atwater

The last book(It was Maniac Magee) was pretty hard one-and it was also fun-, so I can read this book easily. I love the arts in the book and I also liked the storyline. There are many books that have attractive story which makes readers feel better. This book is a one of those books. And there was an unexpected twist, too.

I read the book to study English, but I think I just enjoyed it. But there are still few words that I don't know so I'm going to make a list of those words. Story is might be little boring, but it's still cute. Jacob said that there is a film for this book. I will try that movie if I had time. (There are a lot of movie to watch during the vacation)

The thing that I looked carefully is the relationship of Mr. Popper and Mrs. Popper. Mr. Popper and the penguins' relationships are permanent, too, but they are main characters. So I focused on the couple. Author wrote as if they're the perfect couple in the world explicitly, but I don't agree with that. I don't know how western people think about them, but for me I felt Mr. Popper was just a immature dreamer. If I was undergo the same thing as what Mr. Popper do to Mrs. Popper, I would get divorce my husband promptly. Poppers had to worry about the food for tomorrow in the first few chapters. However, Mr. Popper brought the penguin instead of money. I slightly despised him in few seconds when I read this part. He's not good father at all. But I still agree with why he is the main character. He is a dreamer, and people loves dreamer in the novel. And so do I. He is utterly worst father in the real world, but I like his dramatic images in the novel. Maybe it's inevitable things to highlight Mr. Popper's characteristic well. And this book was written in 1938!

I envied Mr. Popper when I close the book. He finally dispose of every problems, and his dreams came true too. I wish I could act as if there are nothing that can harm me. Maybe some people might notice that this website's first posting is the notes of Steve Jobs. I feel Steve Jobs and Mr. Popper is very similar in some ways. I want to be independent person like them.
